Frequently asked questions
Why do I need a specialist approach for my curly hair?
Every head of curls is beautiful and unique – your curls have their own structure, texture and pattern. As such, you’ll never get the best results from a ‘one size fits all’ haircut. Cutting curly hair in the same the way you would straight hair means you have no idea where each curl will land and what shape you’ll be left with. But with the right expertise and cut, sculpting and styling, your curls will really pop! Get in touch to find out more.
What is the benefit of cutting curl by curl?
Curl-by-curl cuts involves assessing the natural shape and texture of each curl, while they’re dry and looking their best, before cutting and sculpting every curl one at a time to create an overall balanced, flattering and defined shape that’s personal to you. This is the best way to enhance your natural curl pattern and flatter your face and head shape, achieving unique results that really celebrate your individual curls. The transformation will amaze you!
How do I prepare for my appointment?
In order to assess the nature structure and texture of your curls, we ask that your hair is washed, dried and detangled when you come for your appointment. It’s fine to use your normal products but your hair should be down (we’d request you avoid tying it up at all after washing and drying). Essentially, we need to see your curls on their ‘best hair day’ – so that might be the day you washed your hair or might be a day or so afterwards. If you’re unsure, do get in touch in advance of your appointment to check.
